Following a record breaking turn out for this year’s event, Wipeout Dementia has raised a massive total of $344,744 – with funds raised going directly to UNSW’s CHeBA (Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing).
Avenor proudly sponsors the yearly event, captained by Executive Director Peter Clemesha who said this year’s fundraiser was a great testament to the group’s passion for supporting the worthwhile cause.
“I’m immensely proud of not just our team, but all participants who came together on the day.
“As one of Avenor’s flagship philanthropic endeavours, the Wipeout Dementia event helps to raise awareness of the 55 million people worldwide who suffer with dementia – a number that’s projected to increase to 150 million by 2050.
“There is currently no cure for dementia and the answer lies in research – which is why supporting an event such as this it so important,” said Clemesha.
As at 2022, Avenor’s Peter Clemesha is now Wipeout Dementia’s second largest fundraiser EVER, having raised a staggering $54,508.
With community support, individual fundraising efforts and general awareness reaching new heights for the event in 2022, Wipeout Dementia has cemented its place on the annual fundraising circuit and continues to help drive awareness to a very important cause.
